Kat & Mat's big bike trip
Day 51 Split
Beach day! It's a public holiday and we're heading to the city beach at Split for some medicinal bathing as recommended for Mat.
The apartment we're staying in is intense. Most places we've stayed are furnished in a basic way, here every surface is covered with flowery decoupaged items. There are dozens of cushions, blankets, towels, mugs, herbal teas... It's not how we'd decorate but very pretty. The kitchenware is extensive, there's even a boiled egg slicer and honey drizzler. It's impressive.
The public holiday is Statehood Day and there were several flags flown from balconies and fireworks in the evening. It's pretty chilled, most people just have picnics and barbecues apparently.
